Custom Home Plans

We often design custom house plans, working directly with the homeowner or builder to create a very unique and personal home.

Typically, we start with the site layout to understand and present the orientation of the home properly, taking advantage of views and other geographical features. From this site layout, we develop a floor plan, taking into account the home owner or builders’s vision for the interior space. We are constantly working with the exterior look of the home as we create these home floor plans.

When the homeowner or builder is satisfied with the floor plan, we then develop the exterior views and “elevations” of the home. Some adjustment between floor plan and elevations may be required to achieve the exact look desired.

This is about half of the development of the home design. The final half of the design process includes development of the foundation, floor framing, roof plan, sections and the construction notes. We take into consideration the specific needs of home owner or builder during this phase as we do throughout the process, while keeping local building codes at the forefront of our design development.
